Dr. Nicole Thomas, DO
Board-Certified General Surgeon & Surgical Critical Care Specialist
Dr. Nicole Thomas was born in 1964 in New York City during the World's Fair to a musician and a nurse. She graduated from Terre Haute North Vigo High School in Indiana in 1982 and pursued a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering from Purdue University, graduating in 1986. Dr. Thomas initially worked as an industrial engineer in Fort Wayne, Indiana, from 1986 to 1992, before earning an MBA from Indiana University in 1992. She then transitioned into roles in cost accounting and new product development until 1994, when she decided to enter the medical field. After moving to Seattle in 1998, Dr. Thomas attended Touro University in Vallejo, CA, and graduated as a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) in 2003. She completed her General Surgery residency at Kern Medical Center between 2003 and 2008 and practiced in Oregon and Northern California until 2015. Following a Surgical Critical Care fellowship at Indiana University, she specialized in trauma, general surgery, and surgical critical care from 2016 onward. Dr. Thomas became board-certified in both General Surgery and Surgical Critical Care. In 2021, she joined Sono Bello for a fellowship in minimally invasive body contouring, performing approximately 1,000 liposuction procedures until 2024, utilizing FDA-approved VASER equipment. Outside her professional life, Dr. Thomas enjoys sailing, hiking, cooking, and gardening.
